Riverwood North Urban Renewal Project

Washington Park, Riverwood

Washington Park or the Riverwood North Urban Renewal Project in south west Sydney, is one of the largest urban renewal projects undertaken by the NSW Government and is a public-private partnership (PPP).

Developed by PAYCE, the site covers 3.5 hectares and includes 828 architecturally designed apartments across eight buildings. Of these, 150 units are social housing which replaced run-down and outdated units. In 2014, 123 of the new senior living units were completed and transferred to SGCH with the remaining 27 units transferred in 2019.

The site also includes landscaped public spaces, a new library and community hub, a Garden Plaza and Central Park. Additionally, the renewed site takes advantage of a range of existing local support and community services, including the refurbished Salt Pan Creek Reserve, the Riverwood Community Centre and the Riverwood Indoor Sports Centre.

SGCH’s role as a tenancy manager and in place-making has been integral to the success and quality outcomes in Washington Park. We operate a satellite office at the site as part of our ongoing commitment to local service delivery, support coordination and place making.
