Important Fire Safety Reminders for Winter
The start of June means that we are now into the winter months – a time when about 30% of residential fires attended by Fire and Rescue NSW occur. With many people at home, we wanted to give you some important fire safety reminders.
SMOKE ALARMS COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE
By law, we must make sure there is a least one working smoke alarm installed on every level of a home and in each individual apartment or unit. As people can’t smell smoke when they are asleep, smoke alarms are essential for detecting smoke and saving lives. For your safety, it is important that you do not cover or remove any smoke alarm.
SMOKE ALARM TESTING
Every year, we test the smoke alarms in each customer’s home for the properties that we manage. When it is time to test your alarm/s, please help us protect you, but letting our contractor into your home to complete the check. While COVID-19 restrictions are in place, our contractors will follow social distancing requirements and current recommendations when they visit your home.
