Our Executive Management Team leads over 200 staff working in specialised areas of Customers and Communities, Development and Property Services, Finance, and People and Group Services.

Scott Langford
Group Chief Executive Officer

MBA, P.GradDip Prop. Dev., FIML, FAICD, MRICS  

Scott is a Chartered Surveyor with a specialisation in housing management and development, holds an MBA, and post grad in property development and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He leads a team of over 200 staff at SGCH who provide a place to call home for more than 11,000 residents in 6,400 homes. Since joining SGCH in 2016, Scott and his team have secured a development pipeline of 1,000 new social and affordable homes in Sydney, underpinned by $405 million of financing commitments. Major transactions have included the Social and Affordable Housing Fund Phase 1 and Phase 2, and the Social Housing Management Transfer program. Prior to joining SGCH Scott held senior roles in community housing and the private sector in property development. He has served on numerous industry Boards and advisory groups including as Chair of the International Housing Partnership and PowerHousing Australia. He is currently a member of the NSW Community Housing Industry Council and a Director of CHIA NSW.


Kevin McCarthy
Chief Financial Officer

B. Comm, Accounting CPA GAICD

Kevin is a hands-on finance leader with broad experience across the technology & professional services, industrial, finance and not-for-profit sectors with demonstrated capacity to lead large, diverse teams through times of significant change. He has a strong focus on partnering with business leadership colleagues to successfully navigate complexity in the market and the business, motivating his team and managing stakeholders to deliver real-world business outcomes and maintain best-practice governance standards and control over business assets.

Before joining SGCH in 2018, Kevin spent 11 years in senior finance roles with Canon, including 5 years as Finance Director (CFO ANZ). He was Chief Financial Officer of University of Technology Sydney for 3 years having  previously held a number of senior financial and commercial roles.


Barb McKenna
General Manager, Customers and Communities

Bachelor of Arts (History and Gender Studies)

Barb brings over 30 years experience in social housing – in both the government and not-for-profit sectors – to SGCH.

Throughout her career, Barb has worked in a range of project management, program development and policy roles including coordinating the handover of properties, delivering funding grants and managing the transition of a range of high priority programs to business as usual.

Barb joined SGCH in 2012 as Manager Operations, Housing Services and Renewal where she led the team through a period of significant growth and change prior to her appointment to General Manager in 2015. Barb leads the Customers and Communities team with a focus on customer service excellence.


Andrew Brooks
General Manager, Development and Property Services

BSc (Honours) Building Surveying, MRICS

Andrew joined SGCH in May 2013 to lead the leveraging strategy associated with the vested portfolio of  Nation Building assets. In December 2013, Andrew took over responsibility for leading the SGCH Development and Construction team and the SGCH Property Services team. Before joining SGCH he held the position of Project Leader for the $900M Bonnyrigg PPP at Becton Property Group based in Sydney since 2007.

Prior to moving to Australia in 2007, Andrew has over 20 years experience in leading and delivering major urban regeneration projects in the UK, working for the Grosvenor Estate (London and Bath) as Commercial Projects Director, and Development Director at both Associated British Ports (Cardiff Bay) and Bank of Scotland (Edinburgh).

Throughout these projects, he has developed and built strong partnerships with government, community and other key stakeholders which have been core to the projects’ success.


Renée Wirth

B. Planning, Masters of Development Studies

Renée has over 18 years’ experience in managing the planning and delivery of social and affordable housing policies and projects including eight years in Housing NSW in the NSW Government. During this time, Renée established the first state-based statutory regulatory framework for community housing providers, drafted policy frameworks for community housing eligibility, access and asset ownership and managed the government approval process to transfer the ownership of over 6,000 social housing properties to community housing providers. Since commencing with SGCH in 2015, Renée has project managed the establishment of subsidiary, SGCH Sustainability and led the organisation’s successful proposals under Phase 1 of the NSW Government’s Social and Affordable Housing Fund and the Social Housing Management Transfer program. Most recently she led the establishment of our Northern Sydney services as we took over the management of over 1,400 public housing tenancies in the lower North Shore.

Renée leads the Office of the CEO which is responsible for providing assurance, governance, planning, reputation and risk management functions across the business.
