About the role

SGCH has a full-time contract opportunity to December 2024 for a passionate and experienced Tenancy Manager, based at our Redfern office. This role requires you to travel to properties in your portfolio.

As a Tenancy Manager, you will be the main point of contact for tenants to access our services. You are empathic and responsive to tenant requests be it addressing daily tenant matters including property care, tenant arrears/debt and anti-social behaviour, or linking our customers to services to improve their health and wellbeing and sustain their tenancy.

This role will have you initially looking after our Port Jackson Supported Housing Program, where you will partner with registered support agencies to support customers with complex needs to sustain their tenancies.  

About you

The successful candidate for this role will have: 

  • Experience in property management in the real estate industry or in public or community housing sector (minimum of two years)
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including vulnerable people experiencing homelessness, rough sleepers, people managing mental health issues, experiencing domestic and family violence, people with disability, young people, older people
  • Experience at NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT)
  • Knowledge and understanding of NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate
  • Self-motivated with a learning mindset, with experience working autonomously
  • Current NSW driving license.
