SGCH is delighted to introduce you to Debi Mariott-Lavery, our new Group Chief Executive Officer. With a career spanning healthcare and community housing, Debi joined us in June 2025.
Her professional journey began in the UK’s National Health Service, where she trained as a health professional. As she moved from NHS to social care, Debi realised that health, social care and housing were intrinsically linked and that housing was the biggest challenge facing the vulnerable and disadvantaged people she encountered. This revelation led her to shift into working in community housing.
“People are at the heart of what drives me,” she says. “Whether it’s the customers we serve or the brilliant teams I’ve had the joy of working alongside, I firmly believe that when we look after our people great outcomes naturally follow. It’s a great privilege to be joining SGCH in its 40th year with a clear strategy to grow. I’m in my discovery phase and looking forward to meeting and getting to know better our valued partners so we can explore new opportunities together.”
