About 100 families joined festivities at Bonnyrigg Public School to mark the Bonnyrigg Youth Collective’s (BYC) tenth anniversary. The celebration featured a jumping castle, petting zoo and free sausage sizzle – just in time for the school holidays.

BYC brings together young people aged 12- 25 who live, work and study in Bonnyrigg and want to make a positive difference in their neighbourhood. Andrew, a BYC member for six years shared: “It’s nice to see the different communities people bring to the group and see them connect.”

SGCH supports initiatives like BYC that foster connection and inclusion. Taylor, from the SGCH Connecting Communities team said: “This group is about young people coming together and giving back to their suburb, whether through doing relevant training or hosting community events.”

Here’s to many more milestones for BYC! As member Kai puts it: “I hope for BYC to grow and develop, and get even bigger in the next few years.”
