Congratulations to Bonnyrigg Youth Collective (BYC) for being named Outstanding Youth Group in the Fairfield City Mayor’s Youth Achievement Awards.

The awards recognise young people who champion leadership excellence and live, work, volunteer or contribute to the local government area. This year the group marks ten years of supporting local young people aged 12-25.

Taylor from SGCH Connecting Communities was pumped when she got news of the win at the official ceremony for the 2025 awards. “I was there on the night, because I nominated BYC in the category of “Outstanding Youth Group” and they won –  I’m so, so proud!”, Taylor said. 

The Fairfield City Mayor’s Youth Achievement Awards recognise young people who champion leadership excellence and live, work, volunteer or contribute to the Fairfield Local Government Area (LGA).  

Behind the scenes, our Connecting Communities team are hard at work facilitating BYC monthly meetings and activities, including securing grant funding to cover the costs of training, uniforms and leadership camps.
