Development update: what's next for Bonnyrigg?
The renewal project is transforming the former Bonnyrigg housing estate. The Bonnyrigg renewal is being developed over 18 stages with approval to deliver approximately 3,000 new homes, comprising a mix of 30% social and 70% private homes.
Construction is progressing in the Humphries precinct (stages 7B to 11) and planned to commence in the Town Hub precinct (stages 12-13) later this year.
In the Humphries precinct, the civil works contractors have started roads and other infrastructure after remediating and levelling the large site. Existing cul-de-sacs will be removed or joined up for better connections with new roads built to deliver lots for new homes and some apartments.
The Town Hub precinct (stages 12 and 13) relocations are progressing as SGCH supports and assists residents in these older homes to be relocated. Approval to construct a new link road and large lots for apartments was obtained in February. Completion of the approved subdivision works will enable future construction of new apartments and townhouses in the coming years. The future road will provide better connections by linking Bonnyrigg Avenue with Tarlington Parade.
In relation to access to Bonnyrigg Plaza during construction, Homes NSW are continuing with planning efforts and anticipate providing an update later this year.
