SGCH is a Tier 1 provider under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing.
With 35 years’ experience, we provide a place to call home for around 11,000 people in over 6,500 properties across the Sydney metropolitan region.
Formerly ‘St George Community Housing’, SGCH has expanded from our roots in the St George area, and we now operate across metropolitan Sydney. Our local offices and presence in suburbs throughout the greater Sydney region are indicated on the map below, along with a list of new properties we have been developing. Our History
Our story began in 1985, with a man named Frank Baker, who saw a need to provide housing and short-term accommodation for people with low incomes who were waiting for Government Housing properties. With fewer than 25 properties in the St George area, two staff and a local management committee, our organisation began its journey operating from the back verandah of the home of one of our founding members.
Today, we provide homes for around 11,000 people in over 6,500 properties that we own, lease or manage.

Areas of Operation
