SGCH will offer 231 apartments for affordable and social housing situated above a new public library within the Arncliffe Central development – a new and vibrant mixed tenure community comprising more than 800 new units.
Our 21-storey tower is one of four new buildings, replacing a former 1940s social housing estate. The development will include 115 social homes for people on very low incomes and 116 affordable homes for people on low to moderate incomes – including essential workers.
Due for completion in 2027 and fully operational by 2028 this new community is close to Sydney CBD and just 300m from Arncliffe train station. Residents will enjoy city views, a new 4000m2 public park, community centre, public library, childcare facility, shops, cafes and restaurants.
All apartments will adhere to a Silver Livable standard, with 31 units designed to be easily adapted for people with disabilities. All homes will also achieve a minimum 7-star NatHERS rating, helping residents enjoy better energy efficiency and lower utility bills.
SGCH is more than bricks and mortar – we create great places, thriving people and connected communities. At Arncliffe Central, we are taking a place-based approach, engaging locally to shape an inclusive, well-appointed neighbourhood. We will also support residents with wrap around services – scholarships, vocational training and no-interest loans – to help them achieve their goals.
SGCH’s investment in Arncliffe Central has been made possible with finance from the Housing Australia Future Fund. The overall Arncliffe site is being redeveloped as part of a collaboration between the NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC), Billbergia Group, SGCH and Evolve Housing under the NSW Government’s Future Directions Strategy.
